Matthews has played in 35 games so far this season for the Spartans and his hitting an impressive .320 with 27 RBIs and seven stolen bases all while playing excellent defense.

He ranks in the Spartans top five in batting average, RBIs and stolen bases while he leads the team in doubles, triples and runs scored.

The former Counties Colts representative is in the final year of his college career and faces a make-or-break season.

He will hope to be drafted in Major League Baseball’s amateur draft in the middle of the year.
