The Papakura Blues advanced to the Manchester Shield Senior A final after completing a six wicket win over Pukekohe Metro Green on Saturday.

Pukekohe was dismissed for 163 batting first before the Blues reached the target in the 30th over.

Number seven batsman Jagpreet Singh Mavi’s score of 67 helped Pukekohe Metro Gold claim a 44-run win over Weymouth Wolves in the other semi-final.

The Papakura Blues and Pukekohe Metro Gold will square off in the decider this coming Saturday.

Southern Counties picked up a three wicket win in Manchester Shield Senior A Plate action as they took the points over Karaka.

The Manukau Warriors successfully chased Papakura Heat’s target of 226, getting there with six wickets and 21 overs to spare.

Number three Nikhil Verma scored a brilliant unbeaten 157 to dominate the Papakura attack and secure the win for his side.

In Senior B T20 action the Papakura Remarkables crushed Manukau City Blue by nine wickets in Pool 1.

All other Senior B games were forfeited.

The Tuakau Turkeys proved too strong for Glenbrook Maramarua in their T20 Championship Pool 1 clash. Half centuries from Brian Wilson and Lorenz Ewe-Gardner helping the visitors post 191-5.

David Powell and Luke Dillon hit half centuries for the home side but they came up just short.

Weymouth Hardly Athletic eased to their target of 112 without losing a wicket against Manukau City Red.

Meanwhile Clevedon defending their total of 168-6 against Pukekohe Metro Potent Punjabis.

In Plate action Mauku scored a narrow two-wicket win over Weymouth Grumpy Old Men while Waiuku beat Manukau City Zoo by four wickets with Chad Whitehead’s unbeaten 94 the difference.
