Skipper Orbyn Leger returns to the Counties Manukau PIC Steelers side to face Taranaki in the Mitre 10 Cup on Sunday while Kieran Read will play his final match with the side.

Leger has been named at second-five and will captain the team again after missing last week due to niggling issues.

Read, who deputised as captain last week, will play his final game for the Union before heading back to Japan to continue his career with Toyota Verblitz.

The PIC Steelers were able to take advantage of the COVID-19 situation that kept the two-time World Cup winner in New Zealand and were able to call on his services through the campaign with the agreement of Toyota.

Coach Tai Lavea has opted for an attacking starting line-up for the game against fellow Championship side Taranaki.

Matiaha Martin returns at lock for Mickey Woolliams while Sam Slade moves to lock to accommodate Viliame Taulani, who comes into the starting side at blindside.

Pukekohe winger Sione Fifita comes onto the left wing for the injured Tevita Nabura.

The game starts at 4.05pm in Inglewood.
