The Howick Hornets moved to third on the Fox Memorial Premiership ladder after beating the previously undefeated Richmond Bulldogs 20-12 at Paparoa Park.

The Hornets improve to five wins, two losses on the season and are now just two points behind the Bulldogs on the ladder.

The Otahuhu Leopards bounced back to winning ways with a hard-fought 30-22 win over the Papakura Sea Eagles at Prince Edward Park.

The Sea Eagles remain fifth with the Leopards one win back in sixth.

The Mangere East Hawks pushed hard for their first win of the competition but ultimately fell to Glenora 22-6.

The Manukau Magpies and Mt Albert Lions played out a 16-16 draw.

In the Sharman Cup, the Manurewa Marlins grabbed a 36-12 win over the Ellerslie Eagles while the Otara Scorpions edged the Papatoetoe Panthers 32-24 to stay atop the standings.

The Pakuranga Jaguars went down 42-6 to the Ponsonby Ponies.

The Otahuhu Leopards beat Taniwharau 20-10 in Women’s Premiership action while the Otara Scorpions beat the Howick Hornets 28-20 in the battle of the two leading sides.
