Counties Manukau gymnast Havana Hopman has finished 39th all-round in the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Spain.

Hopman finished 46th Hoop, 46th Ball, 37th Clubs and 43rd Ribbon out of a total of the 88 best athletes from around the world.

This is the best performance a New Zealander has ever achieved.

“It was a great improvement from her last worlds, and we are very proud,” coach Elena Pirozhenko told Counties Sports Hub.

“The crowd definitely got behind her routines and especially the Clubs routine. The whole audience was clapping and cheering.”

The 19-year-old placed second in the Gracia Fair Cup held in Hungary last week.
