Counties Manukau representative Rohit Gulati has confirmed he will return to Weymouth for the 2023-24 Counties Manukau Cricket season.

Gulati enjoyed a break-through season with Weymouth in 2022-23 after arriving in the country.

The left-arm spinner made an immediate impact, helping Weymouth become a force in all formats, and was quickly selected to the Counties Manukau representative side.

But Gulati returned to his native India at the end of the season and there were no guarantees that he would return.

Weymouth have since confirmed he has agreed to return to New Zealand and will play for the club this summer.

“We are confident that we will perform same way as in the second half of last year,” said skipper Karminder Thiara told Counties Sports Hub.

“We are hoping to win trophies this year.”

Gulati isn’t the only significant inclusion for Weymouth this summer – Usman Ghani has joined this year. The pace bowler has played premier cricket in Auckland for a number of years.

Nav Aujla, who joined Weymouth in the half of last season, has been tagged for big things and will be a player to keep an eye on.

Weymouth will also be hoping the uber-talented Aryan Mann continues to develop.

The wicketkeeper/batsman scored a century in the National U17 tournament for the Northern Districts team last year as well as making his Counties Manukau senior debut.
