The Takanini Giants have gone down to the Metro Lions 21-0 in the grand final of the American Football Auckland Association eight-man competition on Saturday.
The competition newcomers have enjoyed a wonderful debut season, steadily improving and culminating with a superb performance in the semi-finals to make a maiden grand final.
The defending champion Lions proved a bridge too far in the decider, but the club should be proud of their accomplishments.
The 11-man competition will begin after the holiday break.
