Counties Manukau has picked up first innings points against Bay of Plenty in a weather-interrupted Fergus Hickey Rosebowl match at War Memorial Park over the weekend.

The match had been scheduled for Mountfort Park but rain delayed the start and upon getting the ground ready for play a burst sprinkler was found and the match was moved to War Memorial Park.

With the contest effectively becoming a one-day shoot-out for first innings points, the home side elected to bowl first and Luke Williamson’s 5-35 led the way as they restricted Bay of Plenty to 130 all out.

Rohit Kumar (2-30) continued his strong summer while Navjot Sran had 2-36.

Counties Manukau reached the first innings target for the loss of six wickets and both sides opted to call the game early with no possible chance of a result.

Katene Clarke top scored with 30 while Leon Marconi made 29 and Shane Setia 26.
