Former Black Cap and now cricket commentator Simon Doull has won the Counties Sports Hub Mitre 10 Cup tipping competition.

Doull picked Hawke’s Bay to beat Northland in the Championship final to finish with 44 successful tips from 76 games played.

The cricket star led the five-strong expert tipping competition on Counties Sports Hub from start to finish.

Silver Fern netballer and Northern Stars shooter Maia Wilson and Counties Sports Hub’s own Dale Budge ran joint second – successfully tipping 41 games out of 76.

Former Counties Manukau Steeler and CMRFU board member Gary Millington was the only tipster to get Tasman as the Premiership winner over the weekend and he finished fourth with 39 games correct.

Franklin Local Board chairman Andy Baker was fifth with 38 games correct.

Tasman won back-to-back Premierships after narrowly beating Auckland in the final while Hawke’s Bay overcame Northland to win the Championship.
