Counties Baseball player Matthew Gavin has claimed the Golden Glove award at the Baseball New Zealand U19 Nationals in Hamilton.
Gavin was selected as the competition’s best pitcher as he finished with seven innings pitched with seven strike outs and an ERA of 1.00.
The right hander was playing for the Auckland Tasman team at the Nationals, which finished runner-up to the other Auckland side.
He represents Counties Baseball as well as Howick Pakuranga in the local club competition.
