The EnviroNZ Franklin Bulls picked up their maiden New Zealand Basketball League win as they beat the cross-town Auckland Huskies 63-59 at Trusts Stadium Waitakere on Sunday night.

Having come up short in their previous two matches this season, the Bulls were desperate to come out on the right side of the ledger in what proved to be a back-and-forth contest.

They took a four-point advantage into the final quarter but immediately gave up back to back buckets.

Isaac Davidson powered the Bulls once again with a game-high 19 points while Sam Timmins contributed five points, seven rebounds and six blocks.

Guard Davidson hit a step back shot and then sank two clutch free throws in the final minute to secure the Bulls their first ever win.

The Bulls are next in action on Tuesday night when they face the Nelson Giants.
