The Australian NBL is coming to Pukekohe with the ‘Stockyard’ set to host the New Zealand Breakers and the Illawarra Hawks in a partnership with the Franklin Bulls.

The Franklin Pool & Leisure Centre will be home for the Breakers for a night as they play the Hawks on Friday May 28 having returned from Australia this week.

A partnership between the Kiwi franchise and the EnviroNZ Franklin Bulls has made this possible. The Bulls are playing their second season in the SalsNBL and first at home in Pukekohe.

Bulls star Isaac Davidson has played nine games with the Breakers this season and will return to the Bulls once the Breakers finish their campaigns.

“We value our growing relationship with the Franklin Bulls and the part that Isaac has played in our season,” says Breakers Chief Operating Officer Lisa Edser.

“We hope this game strengthens our bond further as we are committed to supporting teams in the New Zealand basketball league and growing basketball across the country.”

The Bulls have made a great start to the season – winning three of their first five games to sit third on the ladder.

“Without a doubt, this will be a special occasion and a once in a lifetime experience for sports fans in Pukekohe,” says EnviroNZ Franklin Bulls Basketball General Manager Scott Kelso.

“As a smaller community, we don’t get these games ever, so it’s incredible to get the support of the Franklin Local Board, our local Business Association, and the managers of the facility. We can’t wait for May 28.

“Being able to host the Sky Sport Breakers in “The Stockyard” is unprecedented and will likely never be repeated.

“I know our home supporters will get behind the boys and show them the passion and support they have shown the Bulls this season! The Stockyard will be pumping!”
